How to get started using FlipGrid

Hello Summer Scientists! 

We will be using Flipgrid to share our daily science experiences with each other and create our Summer Science community. Some of you may be familiar with Flipgrid already. To get set-up and ready to use our Summer Science Flipgrid, please do the following:

• Go to  https://info.flipgrid.com/
• Click on "enter a flip code" in the upper left corner of the website
• Enter code: summerscience2020
• When asked, log in using your school email address

Once you're in our Flipgrid course, you should see 6 topics: one for each of your Summer Science courses and one called "Spirit of Summer Science." Starting next week, you'll be posting short videos in each of your classes on Flipgrid to share your experiences with others. 

Each week throughout the summer, we'll have a "Spirit of Summer Science" challenge. If you click on this topic in Flipgrid, you'll see your first challenge is already posted! Check out the description for this challenge, as well as the videos posted by your teachers and teaching assistants. Once you're ready, add your video to the "Spirit of Summer Science" topic! 

Notes: you may record directly in Flipgrid using your computer camera and microphone, or upload a video file in an MP4 or WEBM format. There's also a Flipgrid app for your phone!  

Check out your fellow Summer Scientists posts on Flipgrid throughout the summer and feel free to "like" the videos or provide positive, appropriate feedback. 

Make sure your Flipgrid posts always meet THESE basic criteria. There may be prizes involved with the Summer Science Flipgrid posts throughout the summer...stay tuned! :)
