Dear Summer Scientists and Families,
Today marked the start of our final week of "regular" Summer Science virtual programming! Typically, we would be busy preparing for our final camping week at Wyalusing State Park. This year, we are planning a VIRTUAL camping week for our final week of Summer Science. Next week, we would like to encourage all Summer Scientists to participate in "virtual camping!" This will look different for everyone - it might mean a blanket fort in the basement with your siblings or even backyard camping with a close friend (if your family is comfortable doing so...please note that this should be at the discretion of families and their preferences for health/safety measures re: COVID) Also, camping companions do NOT have to be in Summer Science...we encourage you to be creative and find out ways to make this fun! All week long starting next Monday, Summer Science staff and TA's will be posting daily challenges in their lesson plan documents to attempt to mimic some of the same experiences we would have if we were camping together at Wyalusing. You can expect:
Also, here's a quick reminder about attendance, which will continue this week through the end of the program: teachers are now including a DAILY POLL in their lesson plans - at the top of their activity document, which will be used to help them take daily attendance. You can email the attendance email ([email protected]) at any time to excuse your child from Summer Science for 1 day or multiple days - no reason needed! Finally, please check out THIS VIDEO announcing our Summer Science Week 4 Flipgrid winners! Nice work, scientists! Keep your eyes on your mailbox for some fun Summer Science Swag as kudos for your efforts Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for another great week of virtual Summer Science! Thank you! |
